About the bloggers

Adrian Morrison is a first year PhD student from Pictou County, Nova Scotia. He studies in the archaeology department at Memorial with a focus on Northeastern North America.

Christine Blythe is originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and this is her first semester as a master’s student in folklore at Memorial University. She is married and has a 16-month-old son. Christine is currently thrilled to be living in Newfoundland and is especially excited to study the rich historical culture of Quidi Vidi.

John LaDuke is from Cooperstown NY and is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta.

Kari Sawden is a first-year PhD student from Alberta and is currently delighting in the opportunity to live in and explore Newfoundland.

Kayla Carroll is from St. Lunaire-Griquet, NL and has just begun the MA program in Folklore at Memorial. She is looking forward to learning more about Quidi Vidi and the people who call it home.

Klara Nichter is a first-year MA student whose tentative focus is on the folk narratives of Newfoundland and the British Isles. She is from Louisville, Kentucky.

Wang Xuan is from China, and has studied folklore for three years. Her interests are feminist folklore and material culture such as food and costumes. She studied minority Tibetan, Mongolian and Yugur ethnic groups in China, and loves to communicate with people who come from different backgrounds.
